The best wifi hot tubs with app control

Updated October 2026

App control sounds like a gadget, but on a hot tub it earns its keep. A tub takes hours to heat, so being able to switch the heater on from the train, or run it on cheap overnight electricity, changes how often you use it.

Nineteen of the 32 tubs in our data have wifi. The cheapest costs £390, the dearest £1,899. We have not used these apps or tested these tubs. The figures below come from the Amazon.co.uk listings and makers' pages, checked on 30 October 2026.

What app control does for you

The exact features differ by maker, so check the listing, but the point of an app is the same:

  • Heat before you get home. Turn the heater on from work so the water is warm when you arrive.
  • Heat on cheap electricity. With an off-peak tariff you can heat overnight when the unit price is lowest.
  • Turn it down when you go away instead of switching off and reheating from cold.
  • Check the temperature without lifting the lid and letting the heat out.

Our running costs guide shows why the last three matter for your bill.

Best overall: Lay-Z-Spa Toronto

The Toronto has the highest score on the whole site, 7.5. For £700 you get a ThermaCore foam wall, a heater in the wall, app control, 180 air jets and a foot massager. Lay-Z-Spa sells it for 5 to 7 people, and at 190 cm across it has room for four or five adults. It has only 8 reviews, so the buyer rating does not count towards the score yet.

An app pays off most on a tub that holds its heat, and a foam wall does that far better than an air wall.

Best value: Lay-Z-Spa Rome

£530 buys an insulated liner, a heater in the wall, app control and a square shape. 4.5 stars from 25 reviews and a 2-year guarantee. If your budget stops below £600, this is the one to look at.

Cheapest with wifi: Lay-Z-Spa Boracay

£390 and the only wifi tub under £500. It works with Alexa and Google Assistant, holds 669 litres and seats 2 to 4. 4.3 stars from 25 reviews. The pump box sits outside the tub.

Best-rated by buyers: Intex PureSpa Greywood Deluxe 4

4.6 stars from 42 reviews, the best rating among the wifi tubs with 20 or more reviews. It also has a rechargeable wireless control panel, LED lights and a hard water system. Intex publishes no guarantee.

Best with water jets: MSpa Denver

The Denver adds four sets of hydrotherapy jets on a 1,100 W pump, a TempXcel insulation layer and a UVC sanitiser, and it is confirmed 13 A plug and play. No reviews yet and no published guarantee. The Lay-Z-Spa Santorini (£909, 10 HydroJets) is the cheaper route to app control with water jets.

Before you buy a wifi tub

  • Check your signal. The tub needs your home wifi at the spot where it stands. Walk out with your phone and look at the bars. A mesh point or outdoor extender helps if the signal drops.
  • Know which band it uses. Many smart devices only join a 2.4 GHz network. Check the listing or manual before you order.
  • The app is not the insulation. App control on a plain wall still leaves you paying to heat the garden. Pair wifi with a foam wall or insulated liner if you plan to use the tub in winter. See using a hot tub in winter.

How long should you heat ahead?

That depends on the water volume and the heater. A 1,000 litre tub on a 1,800 W heater needs about 15 hours to go from 15 °C to 38 °C, before any heat loss. Our heating time guide shows the sum. Most of the time you will not heat from cold, though: you hold the water warm and use the app to top it up.

Quick answers

Does app control save money? It saves money when you use it to heat off-peak and to drop the temperature while you are away. On its own it saves nothing.

What happens if the wifi drops? The tub keeps running on its own control panel. You lose the remote control, not the heater.
